Privacy Policy

1. Overview

AppReview AI is designed to help developers research public App Store data while keeping AI analysis private on your Mac. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app uses, where it is processed, and which external services may be contacted.

2. On-Device AI Analysis

Review analysis is performed on device using Apple's on-device intelligence when available. AppReview AI requires macOS 26 or later, and AI analysis requires Apple Intelligence to be available and enabled on your Mac. AppReview AI does not send review text, prompts, or AI analysis results to external AI services, third-party AI APIs, or developer-operated AI servers.

3. Public App Store Data

The app requests public app metadata, ratings, rankings, screenshots, and written reviews from Apple-provided public or structured endpoints. These network requests may include the app ID, selected country or storefront, chart category, and similar lookup parameters required to fetch the requested data.

Public review text, ratings, and rankings are provided by Apple endpoints and may be incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or inconsistent.

4. Local Data and iCloud Sync

Saved apps, folders, cached data, and generated analyses are stored locally on your device. If iCloud is enabled for AppReview AI, Apple CloudKit may sync this data through your Apple account across your devices. CloudKit sync is handled by Apple.

5. Gumroad Purchase and Pro Download

AppReview AI Pro is sold through Gumroad. When you open checkout, your browser loads Gumroad's checkout page. After purchase, Gumroad provides the full Pro version download.

The app does not use an in-app license key flow for Gumroad purchases. Payment information, receipts, refunds, and purchased file delivery are handled by Gumroad.

6. App Updates

AppReview AI uses Sparkle for macOS app updates. Sparkle may contact the configured update feed to check whether a new version is available. Update checks do not send review text or AI analysis content.

7. Analytics and Tracking

The AppReview AI Mac app does not include external analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs.

The AppReview AI website uses Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website, improve pages, measure traffic, and diagnose usability issues. These website analytics tools may collect usage information such as page views, clicks, scrolling behavior, device/browser information, and approximate interaction data through cookies or similar technologies. This website analytics data is separate from the AppReview AI Mac app and does not include your local app data, saved apps, review prompts, exported files, or on-device AI analysis content.

8. Sensor Tower Estimates

The project contains Sensor Tower integration code for possible future use, but the monetization feature is intentionally hidden from the main app UI because coverage is not reliable for Mac apps. If this feature is exposed in the future, any download or revenue values should be treated as third-party estimates, not official App Store statistics.

9. Data You Export

If you export reviews, reports, or analysis, the exported files are created locally. You are responsible for where you store or share exported files.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of AppReview AI after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
